Generating the Normative Samples

GMBI

  • GMBI Derived Dementia : We excluded participants who were considered to have either Definite or Probable Dementia as defined by the GMBI "Derived Dementia" variable. In other words, we excluded participants who either (i) said that a physician had diagnosed them with Dementia (DEMENT == "Y") or (ii) complained of memory loss (MEMLOSS == "Y").
  • Missing Instruments : We excluded participants who had zero recorded cognitive tests.
  • Low MMSE : We excluded participants who had an MMSE Score less than 24.
  • Missing Demographics : We excluded participants who were missing information about either their age, education, sex, or race.
  • Age : We excluded participants who were younger than 55 years of age.
